Within diasporic communities, one of the most important conversations for first and second-generation family members is how their varying life experiences actually creates barriers in their relationship.
Time to Play for the Lost Time is a cross-generational presentation of music where the memories of first-generation immigrants reconnect with today’s youth. Second-generation Taiwanese Canadian artist Van Lefan incorporates elements from their parents’ beloved popular singers during their youth into their own arrangements. She will also share stories about her relationship with her parents and her creative journey.

Jade Music Fest & Awards is an annual music event which aims to make Vancouver the North American hub for Chinese-language music through the elevation of underrepresented Sinophone artists in BC.
