Acting Year-Long Classes
Acting A
Acting A is a year-long weekly class for students ages 8-10 providing a process-focused training environment that balances rigor and play!
The first half of the year focuses on building ensemble, gaining familiarity and practice of skills, and advancing theatre learning through material and small projects; in December, each class will host an Open Studio for a portion of their last class before the holiday break, sharing the skills they have learned – students and guests actively participate together!
In the second half of the year, skill development is augmented as students rehearse a story/play in preparation of their year-end presentation. Students are assigned roles; they learn material and explore; work at home is expected, and extra attention to attendance is expected.
In April, students present their work in an informal, in-studio presentation, which is open to invited guests.

Acting for Stage & Film B
Building on the success of last season’s program, Acting for Stage and Film returns with 2 age group levels: Acting for Stage & Film B and Acting for Stage & Film C.
Acting for Stage & Film B (ages 11-13) builds foundational skills in acting for both the stage and screen. In the first half of the year, students will work towards building skills through a short play, which they will share in an informal presentation in December. From January onwards, students will be introduced to basic techniques for on-camera acting, culminating in an Open Studio in April, where guests will be able to see them at work.
Acting for Stage & Film B is open to students of all levels of experience who are looking to build confidence, find their unique creative process, and explore skills for performing both on stage and on camera.
Additionally, students of this class will also be given access to dress rehearsal seats to Gateway’s 2026 spring production.
Tuition fee includes live, on-camera acting instruction and video recordings.
