The Vancouver Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (VYPO) was founded in 2017, and is under the BC Philharmonic Society (BCPS). The orchestra consists of musicians from Richmond, Vancouver, and Delta, and are mostly high school students. They are all music-lovers, and have a talent for music.
The VYPO conductor is Ray Zhuo, winner of the 2013 International Black Sea Conducting Competition, in Romania.
These young musicians, through training and rehearsal perfect their musical understanding and performance capabilities.
They have held over 20 concerts in the Greater Vancouver region, and have earned high praise for their performances. They have even been invited to perform at Disneyland, California, in 2018.
On June 30th, 2023, they will hold the concert, “Symphony for Today” at Gateway Theatre. It is called “Symphony for Today” because some of the contemporary pieces use Western, traditional styles of play.
We invite you to join us for our performance on June 30th at 7PM.
